This is a good option for vegetarians, you can also make delicious and tasty paneer butter masala at home. Paneer pieces are first pan fried in ghee or butter. After this, gravy is prepared by adding tomatoes, onions and spices to the butter. Serve the paneer butter masala when ready: You can serve it with steamed rice, hot roti or paranthas.



material For the Onion Tomato Paste: 
  • 3 tsp butter 
  • 1 tsp oil 
  • 1 onion, chopped 
  • 1 inch ginger 
  • 3 cloves garlic 
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  •  
  • 10 cashews 
  • Other Ingredients: 
  • 2 pods cardamom 
  • 1 bay leaf 
  • ¼ tsp turmeric
  •  
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder 
  • ¼ tsp garam masala 
  • ¼ tsp cumin powder 
  • 1 cup water
  •  
  • ½ tsp sugar 
  • 1 tsp salt
  •  
  • 2 tbsp cream 
  • 20 cubes paneer 
  • 2 tbsp coriander, chopped 
  • ½ tsp kasoori methi
  •  
  • ¼ tsp garam masala
firstly in a large kadai heat 1 tsp butter and 1 tsp oil. saute 1 onion, 1 inch ginger and 3 clove garlic till it shrinks a bit. now add 2 tomatoes and 10 cashew nuts for a minute. cover Cook for 10 minutes or until tomatoes are soft and mushy. Cool completely and transfer to a blender. Blend till smooth paste and add water if required. Heat 2 tbsp butter in a pan and add 2 pods cardamom and 1 bay leaf and fry. Keep on low flame and add ¼ tsp turmeric, 1 tsp chili powder, add ¼ tsp garam masala and ¼ tsp cumin powder. Fry till the masala becomes fragrant without burning. Add the prepared onions to the tomato paste and fry well. Sauté till the oil separates from the sides. Further add 1 cup water, ½ tsp sugar and Add 1 tsp salt. Mix well to get the consistency as required. Also, add 2 tbsp cream and mix well. Now add 20 cubes of paneerand mix gently. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes or till the flavors are absorbed. Further add 2 tbsp coriander, ½ tsp kasoori methi and ¼ tsp garam masala. Mix well. Finally, enjoy paneer butter masala with roti or naan.
